Walter Carrington, a former US Ambassador to Nigeria, is gone.
This was confirmed in a statement written by his aunt, Arese Carrington.
He was 90 years old.
She wrote: “I am announcing the passing of my beloved husband Walter Carrington, former US, with a heavy and broken heart but with gratitude to God for his life of selfless humanity. Ambassador to Senegal and to Nigeria.
“He passed away peacefully on Tuesday 11 August 2020, surrounded by loved ones at the age of 90.
“We will make further announcements shortly.
“Walter was a caring husband, dad, aunt, brother, uncle, in-law and buddy.
“Ralph Waldo Emerson said,” It’s not life, it’s the depth of life.
“Walter was fortunate, his life had longevity as well as breadth.
